Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field and one year of professional-level experience in emergency management.
  • One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
  • Completion of FEMA IS courses 100, 200, 700, 800 and 2200 within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and coordinates SOPs/guides and checklists for area of responsibility.
  • Coordinates with internal departments and community partners on emergency management.
  • Supports management of federal/state/local grant programs related to emergency management.
  • Represents the City on emergency preparedness and homeland security issues.
  • Assists with maintaining the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
  • Assists with disaster response and recovery and develops AARs/IPs.
  • Identifies efficiencies and improvements within area of responsibility.
  • Serves as a point of contact within assigned program areas.
  • Serves as the Duty Officer on a scheduled rotational basis.
  • Provides support to leadership during the Director’s absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
