Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II works as part of the disability management team to administer CalRecycle’s disability leave, FMLA/CFRA, workers’ compensation, return-to-work, and reasonable accommodation programs. The incumbent evaluates eligibility, interprets laws and policies, resolves complex leave and accommodation cases, prepares required notices, and maintains accurate, confidential case documentation. The position serves as the Return-to-Work Coordinator, liaises with SCIF and internal stakeholders, monitors claims, and supports modified duty and accommodation placements. The Analyst II also develops and updates departmental policies and procedures and provides subject matter guidance to managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure consistent and compliant program administration.
Beginning July 1, 2026, CalRecycle staff will be office centered, requiring employees to report to the office at least four days per week. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the positions designated headquarter location, as reflected on the duty statement and at their own expense.
