Job Description And Duties

The Analyst II performs a broad range of analytical, administrative, and program support functions to advance division priorities and ensure efficient program operations. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and managing the Deputy Director's meetings and schedules, preparing agendas, and supporting division-wide administrative tasks. The position prepares and formats correspondence, memoranda, approval letters, and other program documents, including coordinating the review, signature routing, and distribution of documents through electronic systems. The incumbent compiles and analyzes program data to support decision-making, develops and maintains project tracking tools, databases, and spreadsheets to monitor program performance, supports onboarding activities and records management, maintains SharePoint files, and provides analytical and administrative support for special projects.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Working Conditions

Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Pursuant to California Government Code requirements, candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment.

This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position.

  • Department Information: The California Department of Developmental Services (Department) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Special Requirements

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be numbered in the same order as the following areas, typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than two pages in length. Applicants who fail to answer the questions or submit an SOQ may not be considered.

  • Describe your experience coordinating meetings and providing administrative support to managers or project teams. Include any experience working with programs or initiatives related to developmental disabilities, regional centers, or other human services programs. Explain your role, the tools or databases you used, and how your work supported program operations.
  • Describe your experience preparing, tracking, reviewing, and coordinating the distribution of program materials, such as correspondence, reports, or presentations. Include your role in obtaining approvals and signatures, maintaining project or document tracking systems, and ensuring timely completion and delivery.

If you are using list eligibility from an on-line exam to qualify for this position, you MUST include with your application any documentation (i.e., copy of transcript, degree, license, etc.) to verify meeting the MQ’s or you may not be considered for the position. The MQs will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
