Responsibilities

• Supervises multiple teams of examiners and/or several technical operations colleagues for a wide span of control; delegates duties as needed.
• Identifies trends, problems, and improvement opportunities; informs management and proposes action.
• Provides technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication.
• Compiles, reviews, and analyzes management reports and takes appropriate action.
• Performs quality reviews on claims in compliance with audits, standards, and client requirements.
• Acts as second level of appeal for client and claimant issues; implements final disposition of the appeal.
• Reviews reserve amounts on high cost claims and claims beyond examiner authority.
• Maintains contact with clients and promotes professional relationships; provides updates as requested.
• Ensures claims files are properly coded and properly documented by examiners.
• Ensures direct reports are properly licensed in the jurisdictions serviced.
