Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Project Director to lead staff, oversee administration and programs, and drive strategic plan execution in Merced County, CA. The role focuses on WIOA Title 1 compliance, performance metrics, and continuous improvement within workforce development services.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in operations and workforce development, strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to confidentiality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, or community organization or development.
• 5+ years of experience in operations.
• 5+ years of experience in business, marketing, public relations, education, and/or human and/or workforce development services.
• Knowledge of planning and organizing work standards, processes, and references to regularly assist management.
• Understanding of technical support underlying issues related to customer problems and taking action to prevent future occurrences.
• Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to lead a team with different working styles.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
• Sharp attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel), PowerPoint, training platforms, and case management or customer relations software applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing staff and program administration under WIOA Title 1.
• Ensure contract compliance and performance standards.
• Develop and implement workforce program strategies.
• Coordinate policies for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
• Lead a team of high-functioning employees and coach staff growth.
