Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Business Group Professional Services Director to lead technical quality and delivery excellence across the matrix organization. You will guide practice groups, foster collaboration, and advance standards that improve project outcomes.

The role reports to the WBG President and shapes professional practices, risk management, and continuous improvement. You will partner with operations, market sectors, and technical leaders to position HDR as a leader in global architecture

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in managing and developing technical teams.
• Maintain AEC industry associations.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture at HDR.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff development in technical, professional, business, and service delivery competencies.
• Develop approaches to new or developing technologies, digital delivery methods, and service areas.
• Lead evaluation, implementation, and adoption of professional services technologies and digital tools.
• Coordinate and monitor staff training on company policies and processes.
• Lead continuous improvement with technical standards and delivery-focused processes.
• Support recruitment, staffing, and collaboration across groups to advance delivery strategies.
