Job summary

WM is seeking a Director of Wastewater Process Engineering to lead enterprise-wide initiatives for landfill liquids management and treatment. You will establish policies, oversee systems, and drive best practices across facilities to ensure compliance and performance.

The role requires technical leadership in complex projects, with focus on innovation in treatment solutions and regulatory alignment. Remote work option with significant travel within the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, environmental management, biology, chemistry or similar.
• At least 10 years total experience with 7+ years in industrial wastewater treatment design/ops.
• Master’s degree preferred with 10+ years experience; 3+ years of management preferred.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Experience in landfill liquids treatment and environmental solutions.

Responsibilities

• Directs policy development for landfill liquids handling, treatment and disposal.
• Leads permitting, design, and construction of leachate treatment facilities.
• Uses flow and mass balance tools to improve leachate treatment performance.
• Leads technology initiatives to improve operational efficiency and environmental compliance.
• Collaborates with internal/external experts on waste water technologies.
