Job summary

WM is seeking a Director, Wastewater Process Engineer to lead enterprise-wide liquids management initiatives across landfill facilities. You will set policy, oversee systems, and drive best practices for leachate treatment, reporting to the Sr. Director of ES&WT.

This remote US-based role requires 10+ years in industrial wastewater design/operations, BS degree, and strong leadership; master preferred. You will collaborate with corporate and field teams to ensure compliance and continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years overall experience with 7+ years in industrial wastewater treatment design/operations.
• Master's degree and 3+ years of management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of staff and external consultants for landfill liquids management and treatment projects.
• Develops policies and procedures for environmental compliance and landfill liquids handling.
• Leads design and construction of leachate treatment facilities and due diligence for waste management assets.
• Uses flow and mass balance analyses to improve leachate treatment performance and compliance.
• Represents WM with regulators and internal stakeholders to promote safe, compliant operations.
