Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Director of Veterinary Quality to ensure care in San Francisco Bay and East Bay markets meets Banfield quality standards. You will lead ACOS teams, drive quality KPIs, and partner with field leaders to optimize medical care and client experience.

The role requires a DVM, multi-location leadership, and a strong track record in hospital management, regulatory compliance, and recruiting. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent is required.
• Five years practicing in small animal veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Two years' experience in hospital leadership.
• Five years' experience in multi-location veterinary management.
• Active veterinary license in good standing in every state overseen.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles within self and team.
• In partnership with the ACOS, drive a growing doctor team through recruiting, referrals, and hiring.
• Ensure onboarding and mentorship, consult on doctor risk, staffing needs and compensation.
• Develop and lead the Area Chiefs of Staff to meet quality standards.
• Drive market performance to deliver high quality medical care across the six domains.
• Oversee implementation and auditing of medical quality programs and audits.
• Work with Field Directors & Hospital Leaders to ensure safety of clients, associates and pets.
• Ensure hospital operations meet local, state and federal regulations.
• Lead efforts for DEA and radiation safety and compliance.
• Travel to assigned markets and perform hospital visits to assess care delivery.
• Develop relationships with veterinary colleges to meet long-term recruiting needs.
• Manage market medical equipment budget and maintenance.
• Participate in veterinary organizations to promote Banfield's brand.
