Office of the County Engineer in Harris County seeks a Director, Capital Projects to plan, direct, and oversee vertical capital construction initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and in compliance with codes. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with internal departments, consultants, and external agencies.

The role requires a decade of related experience, a PE or architectural license in Texas within six months, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Formación

• Ten years plus in vertical capital project delivery or related field.
• Experience managing complex building projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Public-sector or institutional project experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide executive leadership for OCE’s vertical capital projects portfolio across all design and construction phases.
• Establish division-wide delivery standards and performance expectations aligned with County policies.
• Oversee lifecycle activities: planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, inspection, closeout, warranty.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, life-safety, accessibility, and design criteria.
• Prepare contracts, amendments, and funding requests for Commissioners Court.
• Mentor and manage project managers and staff for performance and development.
