Job summary

The Harris County Flood Control District seeks an Engineering Project Manager to lead flood-damage reduction projects from concept through closeout. Responsibilities include coordinating scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Science, or Construction Management from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years’ experience managing infrastructure projects with at least one project with grant funding or multiple different funding sources.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from preliminary engineering through all the project phases to close out, including coordinating resources, developing scopes of work, schedules, risk assessments, cost estimates, and expediting deliverables as needed.
• Facilitate and negotiate consultant procurement and manage internal and external resources to develop the project delivery team, scope, schedule, and budget during all phases.
• Coordinate efforts with the project delivery team to prepare the final deliverables required in each phase of the project. This will normally include summary exhibits, engineer reports, and/or permitted plan sets and specifications.
