Vir Biotechnology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director, Toxicology to lead nonclinical safety strategies for infectious disease and oncology programs.

You will provide scientific leadership from candidate selection through clinical development, coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners to advance programs efficiently. This role reports to the VP of Translational Development and is based in San Francisco with a requirement of at least three days per week in the office.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience in industry conducting biologics and pharmaceutical research and development, with oncology and infectious disease biologics specialization.
• Excellent scientific written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of FDA, EMA, and ICH guidance including GLP regulations.
• Experience in authoring regulatory submissions (INDs, BLA) and responding to regulatory inquiries.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across departments.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute the nonclinical toxicology strategy across multiple development programs from candidate selection through registration and life cycle management.
• Oversee nonclinical safety studies (GLP and non-GLP) in compliance with regulations and SOPs.
• Design, review and interpret nonclinical toxicology study reports and finalize them per regulatory requirements.
• Lead regulatory document development (CTAs, IMPDs, INDs, BLAs) and interact with regulatory authorities as needed.
• Partner with Regulatory, Clinical, CMC and external collaborators to integrate nonclinical activities into development plans.
• Contribute to SOPs and departmental procedures, staying current with literature related to Vir Bio’s pipeline.

DVM or PhD in Pharmacology/Toxicology or Biomedical Sciences
