Job summary

Vir Biotechnology in San Francisco is seeking an Associate Director, Clinical Scientist to lead oncology study execution, from startup through reporting, in collaboration with Clinical Operations, Medical Monitoring, Data Management and Biostatistics.

This hands-on role emphasizes data-driven study design, protocol development, and timely safety and regulatory documentation, with onsite presence required at least three days weekly.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field.
• 7+ years of oncology clinical research experience.
• Experience designing, conducting and analyzing oncology trials.
• Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH, and the clinical drug development process.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Clinical Scientist for oncology studies, supporting startup, execution, data review, and reporting.
• Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Medical Monitoring, Data Management, Biostatistics, Regulatory, and other teams to support study conduct.
• Contribute to protocol and informed consent development, including authoring and cross-functional feedback.
• Perform ongoing clinical data review, identify trends, and ensure high-quality data.
• Support site-facing activities, investigator meetings, and study training.
• Contribute to preparation and review of clinical study reports and regulatory submissions.
