Job summary

Excel Sports Management is seeking a Director of Talent Strategy to help brands navigate the talent landscape and build impactful partnerships across sports, entertainment, music and culture. This role leads strategic talent workstreams across agency relationships and client projects, from defining talent roles to evaluating talent and negotiating partnerships.

You will bring strong strategic instincts, deep knowledge of the talent market, and the confidence to advise clients while juggling

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in talent strategy, talent partnerships, endorsements, sports or entertainment marketing, or talent representation.
• Experience developing talent recommendations and advising brands beyond individual campaign execution.
• Strong knowledge of professional sports, entertainment and music talent, including representation structures and deal economics.
• Hands-on experience negotiating talent deals and evaluating fees, deliverables and usage rights.
• Ability to translate client challenges into sharp strategic recommendations and persuasive presentations.
• Established relationships with talent agents, managers or industry partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop talent strategies aligned to clients’ business objectives and brand priorities.
• Identify and evaluate athletes, celebrities, musicians and other talent based on fit and value.
• Build strategic frameworks, shortlists and client presentations with clear rationale.
• Advise clients on how talent supports long-term brand platforms and partnerships.
• Lead talent outreach, negotiations and deal structuring across rights and appearances.
• Manage day-to-day talent workstreams across multiple accounts and projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to connect talent recommendations to client priorities.
• Support growth of the Talent & Creator Marketing division through process improvements.
