Job summary

Quanta Services, via QISG, seeks a Director of Engineering for Substation to lead the planning, design, and execution of transmission and substation projects. You will oversee engineers and staff to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while driving strategic objectives.

You will mentor teams, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate across Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and customers to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in electric utility engineering or management for high voltage projects.
• B.S. or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license required.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and budget.
• Strong knowledge of structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering and industry standards (ANSI/NEC/NESC etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and business acumen; able to drive strategic plans and collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers and technical staff.
• Oversee planning, design, and execution of transmission/substation projects.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and resource plans; ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Manage risks, resolve issues, and ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance in design and optimization of transmission/substation systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to align initiatives with business goals.
• Represent the company at industry forums and with external partners.
