Job summary

WSB seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead Substation Engineering and Protection & Control within its Power Delivery organization. The role manages managers, staff, and technical leaders, ensuring quality, staffing, and client delivery across multiple offices.

You will guide technical direction, QA/QC processes, and cross-functional collaboration with DER and studies teams, while advancing staff development and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years in power delivery, utility consulting, or electrical engineering with substantial substation/ P&C experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience leading managers, technical leads, or multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical judgment, communication, organization, coaching, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead directors, managers, and engineering staff across Substation, P&C, Studies, and DER.
• Provide strategic direction on complex substation projects including HV/MV substations and protection schemes.
• Oversee QA/QC, design standards, and technical procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
• Translate Power Delivery strategy into engineering plans, staffing, and training priorities.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and lead pursuits in substation engineering and power delivery services.
• Represent WSB at client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations.
