Job summary

WSB is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead Substation Engineering and Protection & Control, overseeing managers and technical leaders across Substation, P&C, Studies, and DER. The role emphasizes engineering quality, workforce planning, and client delivery. A PE license and 15+ years of power delivery experience are required.

The position supports hybrid work in multiple offices, including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and other major locations, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE license required.
• 15+ years of progressive power delivery or electrical engineering experience with substation experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers/technical leads.

Responsibilities

• Lead directors, managers, and engineers across Substation, P&C, Studies, and DER.
• Mentor engineers and emerging leaders for technical growth and succession planning.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and compensation reviews.
• Establish resources and structure to scale engineering operations.
• Set and maintain QA/QC processes, design standards, and technical procedures.
• Coordinate across Substation, P&C, Transmission, and other service lines to ensure consistency.
