Job summary

Ivy Tech is seeking a Director of Strategic Portfolio Management & PMO to lead the Office of Information Technology project portfolio and directly manage select high-priority initiatives. The role partners with the CIO to align work with institutional priorities and build a service-oriented PMO.

Responsibilities include developing governance, dashboards, and executive reporting, while coaching teams and ensuring clear decisions and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and establishing project governance or portfolio management practices.
• Experience with prioritization, planning, risk management, executive reporting, and stakeholder decision-making.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and translate complex information into clear recommendations and actions.
• Master's degree preferred; PMP/PfMP PgMP or comparable certification; experience maturing a PMO or portfolio function.
• Experience in higher education or complex distributed organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, enterprise technology projects and programs sponsored by the CIO.
• Direct and manage the OIT portfolio of strategic initiatives.
• Establish intake, prioritization, sequencing, and review processes.
• Develop project charters, scope, schedules, budgets, and risk plans.
• Create portfolio dashboards and executive progress reports on risks and capacity.
• Coach sponsors and delivery teams in planning and execution.
