Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Director of Strategic Portfolio Management & PMO to lead the Office of Information Technology project portfolio, align initiatives with institutional priorities, and provide leadership with visibility into progress, risks, resource needs, and upcoming decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and establishing project governance.
• Ability to influence across teams and translate complex information into clear actions.
• Experience with prioritization, planning, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Experience building or maturing a PMO or portfolio management function.
• Experience in higher education or distributed organizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the IT project portfolio and select high-priority initiatives.
• Develop charters, schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications.
• Establish a consistent project intake, prioritization, sequencing, and review process.
• Create portfolio dashboards and executive reporting on progress and capacity.
• Coach sponsors and delivery teams in planning and execution; facilitate reviews.
• Build a service-oriented PMO and governance framework.
