Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Reading, PA seeks an Environmental Programs - Storage Tank leader to drive strategy, development, and management of storage tank compliance across operations, ensuring 100% regulatory alignment.

The role will build and lead a team of environmental professionals and third-party experts, develop scalable policies, and integrate with business processes while aligning with regulators and internal partners to mitigate environmental risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil or Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Energy Management, EHS or related field.
• Master's degree preferred; industry experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Professional Engineer; storage tank training and industry certifications are preferred.
• 10+ years of multi-state storage tank compliance experience and leadership.
• Experience with storage tank management systems and EMIS is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the storage tank compliance program and team.
• Build scalable policies, programs, and processes ensuring QA/QC and continuous improvement.
• Track tanks from installation to closure, including testing and upgrades.
• Maintain records of maintenance, testing, and audits.
• Lead spill response and remediation efforts.
• Coordinate with Field Environmental Compliance Specialists for inspections.
• Collaborate with Facilities, Energy & Fuel, Real Estate, and Operations on upgrades/removals.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs for tank integrity.
• Enforce environmental safety protocols and hazmat handling training.
• Manage third-party vendors for compliance work and regulatory communications.
