Job summary

Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking an environmental professional to lead the development of compliance programs for nationwide product offerings and oversee environmental compliance at multiple locations.

The role requires evaluating environmental risks, implementing practical procedures, and working with operations, maintenance, and regulatory agencies across the United States and Canada. Travel up to 70% is required, and a company service vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Occupational or Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or a related field.
• At least three years of environmental compliance experience, preferably supporting multiple locations, vehicle maintenance, transportation, fleet services, or other field-based operations.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental requirements involving hazardous waste, hazardous materials, storage tanks, stormwater, wastewater, air emissions, regulatory inspections, corrective actions, and facility closures across multiple states.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical procedures for field and maintenance teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with operational teams, vendors, regulators.
• Ability to travel nationwide up to 70% and work independently across a large geographic area.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with EH&S data-management systems preferred.
• Professional certifications are preferred (HMM, P.E., P.G., REB, REP).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating new product offerings to identify environmental risks and regulatory requirements.
• Developing, implementing, and improving environmental compliance programs for new products and field locations.
• Conducting on-site inspections, audits, and training; supporting regulatory inspections.
• Collaborating with field leaders, vendors, regulators, and customers to implement compliant solutions.
• Researching and communicating environmental requirements across states and jurisdictions.
• Maintaining records and monitoring program performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Performing additional environmental projects as assigned.
