Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a Product Engineering team. You will shape the team’s vision, mentor engineers, and drive architecture across backend services, distributed systems, and client applications.

This role emphasizes collaboration with Product, Design, Data Science, and Operations to deliver high-quality, privacy-conscious products at scale. You will hire and develop top talent, communicate with senior leaders, and ensure operational excellence,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of software development experience post-Bachelor’s.
5+ years as engineering manager or technical leader, setting technical direction.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality experiences.
Set technical vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with company priorities.
Design and scale critical product components and services across the stack.
