Job summary

KLDiscovery is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to own delivery for the Nebula platform, guiding managers and engineers to ship the roadmap reliably at scale. You will partner with Product, Design and leadership to balance feature delivery with performance, security, and governance in a cloud-based SaaS environment.

The role demands 10+ years in software engineering, senior leadership experience, and a track record shipping AI-enabled SaaS on major cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Proven track record shipping SaaS on a major cloud platform.
• Experience delivering AI/ML-powered features to production.
• Fluency with modern delivery practice: agile at scale, CI/CD, automated testing.
• Success hiring and developing engineering leaders in remote or distributed teams.
• Clear, direct communication with executives and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery lifecycle for Nebula: quarterly planning, sprints, releases.
• Drive platform architecture, multi-tenant scalability and reliability.
• Partner with Product and research to bring AI features to production.
• Lead and develop engineering managers and senior ICs.
• Translate business objectives into technical strategy and roadmaps.
• Own headcount planning and engineering budget with monthly forecasting.
