Job summary

JPMorganChase in Ohio seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead a technical area within the Consumer & Community Bank Technology team, guiding impact across departments and projects. You will set technical direction, drive modernization, and act as primary decision maker for your teams and initiatives.

You will steer cloud-native transformations, enforce security and regulatory compliance, and champion scalable, reusable solutions across domains.

Qualifications

• Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex items.
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
• Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Owns governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
• Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Drives Teller platform modernization, migrating from legacy mainframe systems to cloud-native, modular architectures
• Enforces trust, security, and regulatory compliance across Teller modernization initiatives
• Re-architects Argo-based teller applications into modular, testable workflows with resilient host integrations
• Lead mainframe re-platforming and refactoring to integrate workloads with aligned, contemporary solutions
