Job summary

Optiv is seeking a Director of Security Engineering to lead the security engineering practice across SIEM, EDR, and SOAR for MSS/MDC delivery. You will manage platform architecture, detection engineering standards, data pipelines, and SOAR orchestration in a remote-capable, nationwide role.

You will mentor senior staff, drive automation, and align engineering practices with client outcomes while maintaining quality and cost controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field; Master’s preferred.
Advanced security leadership certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) and vendor certifications preferred.
10+ years of information security and managed services experience.
Leadership of security engineering or MSS delivery teams including people managers.
Strong experience across SIEM, EDR, SOAR and other platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead the security engineering practice across SIEM, EDR, SOAR and other security platforms; plan resources.
Own the technical direction and quality of MDR, co-managed SIEM, data engineering and Tier 1 offerings.
Establish and drive process, documentation and detection-content improvement; deliver metrics.
Provide practice and offer management, sales enablement, and direct high-priority initiatives.
Enforce policies and serve as executive escalation point for platform/service delivery.
