Job summary

Optiv Security Inc. is seeking a Director of Security Engineering to lead the engineering and service delivery for SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and other platforms within MSS and AFC. This remote role supports the continental U.S.

and requires strategic leadership across platform architecture, detection engineering, and operational excellence. You will mentor senior leaders, drive automation and orchestration, and partner with sales on proposals and engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in a related field, or equivalent work experience; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
• Advanced security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) and relevant vendor certifications preferred.
• 10+ years of information security and professional/managed services experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership of security engineering, SOC platform, or MSS delivery teams; leadership of people managers required.
• Experience across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and platforms such as Wiz and Cribl.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security engineering practice across SIEM, EDR, SOAR and other platforms; plan resources for MSS and AFC portfolios.
• Own the technical direction and quality of MDR, co-managed SIEM, data engineering, and Tier 1 offerings; oversee platform architecture and detection standards.
• Establish and drive process improvements; deliver metrics showing client operational efficiency and adherence to SLOs.
• Provide practice management, offer management, and sales enablement; lead high-priority initiatives with quality at the forefront.
• Maintain security policies, change management, and escalation procedures; serve as executive escalation for platform delivery.
