Oliver James Group is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting & Accounting to own external financial reporting, technical accounting policy, and policy development within a complex environment.

Reporting to the Controller, you will guide SEC filings, collaborate with senior leadership, and drive process improvements while leading a dedicated accounting team. This role emphasizes rigorous controls and clear external communications.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of SEC reporting, US GAAP, and technical accounting policy.
• Proven leadership experience with at least five years of team management.
• Experience in the insurance industry, preferably Property & Casualty.
• Familiarity with Workiva and advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead research and development of accounting policies in line with US GAAP.
• Collaborate with senior Finance leadership on complex accounting matters and transactions.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles and disclosures.
• Coordinate with Investor Relations and Finance to ensure accurate external communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and internal controls.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team.
