Job summary

Takeda Boston is seeking an Associate Director of Scientific Communications to drive publication strategy and deliverables for oncology assets. You will lead publications planning across cross-functional teams, manage external vendors, and ensure scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have a strong scientific background, 7+ years in medical publications, and experience with Datavision and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline plus commensurate long-term experience in pharma/biotech.
• Advanced degree (PhD/PharmD or equivalent) with 7+ years healthcare or related experience, including 3+ years in medical publications.
• Knowledge of publication planning processes, GPP3, ICMJE, and CONSORT.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure; vendor management experience.
• Experience with Datavision and publications management databases.
• Cross-functional and global/local teamwork experience in pharma.

Responsibilities

• Lead global or regional publication plans in coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Review manuscripts, abstracts, posters for accuracy and scientific rigor.
• Manage medical writing vendors and publication budgets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scientific communications materials.
