Job summary

SharkNinja is seeking an experienced Director of Product Development, Robots to own the Shark Robots category and drive multi-year strategy from concept to shelf. You will lead managers and product developers, align with engineering, design, and marketing, and shape the roadmap with executive visibility.

You will balance consumer needs and competitive white space, set clear targets, and influence portfolio decisions while leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product development, robotics, human factors, or a related field, including experience owning a product category or portfolio — consumer goods or robots preferred.
• Proven experience building, managing, and developing a team of managers and/or senior individual contributors, including hiring and succession planning.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, marketing, management, or engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• A relentlessly consumer-first instinct, paired with the judgment to make category-level trade-offs.
• Executive-caliber communication: crisp writing, efficient problem-solving conversations, and presentations that hold up in front of — and influence — our executive leadership team.
• Strong strategic and project management skills — you set priorities across multiple programs and teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Comfort owning P&L-level trade-offs, transparency, and shifting priorities, with a genuine appetite to learn and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Own the Shark Robots category strategy and multi-year roadmap, from white-space identification through mass production, and present to executives.
• Build and lead a team of managers and product developers; hire, coach, set goals, and develop future leaders.
• Set the design and performance targets across the category and ensure accountability among engineering, design, and marketing.
• Partner with Insights & Intelligence to shape testing strategy and translate findings into portfolio decisions.
• Collaborate with testing and quality to define standards across the category.
• Own the category's cost structure and margin performance; define sourcing strategy with supply chain and planning leaders.
• Oversee go-to-market, instructional materials, and post-purchase support content across the product line.
• Serve as executive-facing category expert for cross-functional org and sponsor breakthrough initiatives.
• Manage budget and resourcing to maximize category growth.
