Overview
Based in Clifton, NJ, this role is responsible for Compliance within a region with revenues greater than $1 billion and may include responsibility for providing leadership support, coverage or management to multiple regions. Responsibilities include compliance support for the General Manager, Regional Vice Presidents of Operations and Commercial, other members of the leadership team, and support to other Compliance Directors in different regions. As a regional leadership team member, acts as a business partner with senior leadership to ensure compliance and resolve compliance issues. Responsible for communicating, proactively driving, and monitoring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and ethical standards, both directly and through supervising Compliance personnel within the region’s sites. Engaged in all aspects of the business, seen as a key driver of compliance in complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement cross-regional opportunities to drive compliance and support business operations.
- Provide compliance support to the General Manager and Regional Vice Presidents of Operations and Commercial as part of the senior leadership team.
- Engage with senior leadership in business initiatives to identify and address compliance issues and develop compliant solutions.
- Lead the regional compliance program.
- Direct activities of the regional Compliance staff to ensure effective and efficient compliance programs.
- Coordinate with other Regional Compliance Directors and Corporate Compliance SMEs for approval and consistency of regional initiatives.
- Lead privacy matters and manage reporting related to breaches of protected health information and personal information, if applicable.
- Collaborate with Legal and other functions to ensure awareness and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Drive the compliance program by leading projects and providing operational feedback for corporate initiatives.
- Ensure compliant outcomes for system and customer/product conversions, including laboratory and billing systems.
- Enhance the internal monitoring program to resolve issues promptly and improve audit results.
- Manage the compliance audit process aiming for successful audit outcomes; coordinate action plans for timely resolution.
- Ensure proper governance of the Regional Compliance teams.
- May provide guidance or lead compliance initiatives across multiple regions and direct Regional Compliance Directors.
Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
- 15+ years of people management experience across multiple locations.
- 10+ years in compliance or Lab Operations within healthcare organizations.
- 10+ years developing compliance programs and policies.
- 10+ years in a compliance manager role or similar position managing multiple labs.
- Proven leadership and managerial skills, including capability building.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
