Job description

Job Description: Regional Compliance Director

Based in Clifton, NJ, this role is responsible for compliance within a region with revenues exceeding $1 billion. The position may include providing leadership support, coverage, or management to multiple regions. Responsibilities include supporting the General Manager, Regional Vice Presidents of Operations and Commercial, and other leadership team members. The role involves acting as a business partner with senior leadership to ensure compliance and resolve compliance issues.

The director is responsible for communicating, proactively driving, and monitoring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and ethical standards, both directly and through supervising compliance personnel at regional sites. The role is engaged in all aspects of the business and is a key driver of compliance requirements in complex situations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify and implement opportunities across regions to enhance compliance and support business operations.
  2. Support senior leadership, including the General Manager and Regional VPs, on compliance matters.
  3. Engage with leadership on key initiatives to address compliance issues and develop compliant solutions.
  4. Lead the regional compliance program and oversee compliance staff activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  5. Coordinate with other Regional Compliance Directors and Corporate Compliance SMEs to ensure consistency and obtain necessary approvals.
  6. Manage privacy matters, including reporting breaches of protected health or personal information.
  7. Collaborate with Legal and other functions to ensure awareness and compliance with regulations.
  8. Drive the corporate compliance program through project leadership and operational feedback.
  9. Oversee compliant outcomes for system and customer/product conversions.
  10. Enhance internal monitoring to identify and resolve issues promptly, aiming for positive audit results.
  11. Manage the audit process to achieve optimal results, and lead action plan development for issue resolution.
  12. Ensure proper governance within the regional compliance teams.
  13. Potentially lead compliance initiatives across multiple regions and guide Regional Compliance Directors.
Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years in people management, including managing staff across multiple locations.
  • At least 10 years in compliance or laboratory operations within healthcare organizations.
  • Extensive experience in developing compliance programs and policies.
  • Proven leadership in managing compliance teams across multiple labs.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, complex environments.

Education and Certifications
