Job summary

Helion in Everett, WA, is seeking an accomplished electrical/mechanical engineering leader to own the Orion capacitor bank architecture and its interfaces with the machine core. You will guide multidisciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and thermal domains to deliver robust, manufacturable pulsed power hardware.

You will drive cost, schedule and reliability, partnering with manufacturing to scale production and accelerating qualification for production modules while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
• 10+ years building complex electromechanical hardware.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Orion’s capacitor bank and its interfaces with the machine core.
• Lead cross-functional teams across electrical, mechanical, firmware and thermal design.
• Drive design-for-manufacture and move modules from prototype to production.
• Own cost, schedule and reliability for the module portfolio.
• Collaborate with research, science and controls to stay ahead of physics learnings.
• Build and scale the team, set design-review standards, and transition to production.
