Job summary

Helion Energy in Everett, WA seeks a power electronics engineer to take designs from concept through bring-up and operation on a working fusion machine. You will own high-voltage pulsed-power systems, control and protection electronics, and energy-conversion hardware.

You will work in a small, fast-moving team delivering real-world outcomes, with emphasis on efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability as Helion scales toward a production plant.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience designing power electronics or power-conversion hardware end-to-end.
• Solid grounding in switching topologies, devices, magnetics and thermal design.
• Proficiency with PCBA design and circuit simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, bring up, commission and operate pulsed-power hardware on a working fusion machine.
• Develop low-voltage control, protection, and synchronization for pulsed-power circuits.
• Design high-voltage and fast pulsed systems with kilovolt/kiloampere scales.
• Iterate hardware with fast feedback in a small, high-velocity team.
