Job summary

Lilly is constructing an advanced API manufacturing site in Houston, TX. The Associate Director, Process Engineering – Oligonucleotides, leads the process engineering team, ensuring resourcing and qualification of equipment and systems to support GMP Oligonucleotides production.

The role guides startup activities, SOPs, and cross‑functional collaboration for site-wide execution. You will supervise engineers, develop staffing plans, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with safety,

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or related field with API/chemical manufacturing experience.
3+ years of experience in Oligonucleotides or similar GMP manufacturing environment.
3+ years leadership experience in manufacturing

Responsibilities

Lead startup and ongoing process engineering to support GMP API production.
Build and coach a high-performing engineering team for startup and operations.
Develop SOPs and ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate across functions to optimize design, commissioning, and validation activities.
Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
