Job summary

BayCare in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Director of Admitting and Financial Assistance to lead patient access, revenue cycle, and charity programs. You will collaborate with BayCare divisions to ensure accurate registrations, eligible financial counseling, upfront collections, and denials management.

The role requires strong healthcare administration leadership, regulatory compliance, and partnership with senior leaders to optimize costs and service excellence while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Experience: Required - 10 years - Accounts Receivable.
• Experience: Required - 12 years - Healthcare Management in related field; Or - 15 years - related experience in lieu of Bachelors.
• Bachelor's degree in related field is required; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for achieving a balance between new technology, department demands, cost effectiveness, setting goals forecasting, charity programs, managing accounts receivable, and policy/procedure development.
• Collaborate with all lines of business in BayCare including Outpatient Imaging, Outreach Lab, BayCare Medical Group, Urgent Care Centers and Behavioral Health.
• Register patients promptly and accurately with emphasis on seamless scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, authorization, financial counseling, upfront cash collections, denials mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with JCAHO, federal and state requirements.
• Interact with hospital senior leadership and outside agencies regarding Financial Assistance; support uninsured patients in finding resources.
• Promote service excellence and report to the Vice President for Patient Financial Solutions.
