Job summary

Deriva Energy is seeking a Director of Origination in the United States to lead end-to-end origination across defined regions. You will originate, structure, and negotiate PPAs with utilities and large-load clients, building long-term agreements to fuel growth and asset economics.

Reporting to the Head of Origination, you will manage cross-functional deal teams through the full cycle from bid to close, ensuring profitability and risk management across renewable and storage projects.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) or more years of experience in the energy industry.
• Ten (10) or more years of energy experience with at least five (5) years in power origination.
• Proven success securing long-term power sale agreements with utilities and corporations.
• Ability to lead, structure, negotiate, and execute power sale agreements with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead origination strategy and deal execution aligned with Deriva's objectives.
• Originate, structure, and negotiate PPAs and offtake agreements with utilities and large-load counterparties.
• Secure long-term agreements to support financing and buildout of new renewable and storage projects.
• Develop PPA restructuring and structured product solutions to improve asset economics.
• Evaluate RFPs, lead bid strategy, and coordinate cross-functional teams through bid preparation and procurement.
• Prepare approval materials outlining commercial strategy and risks for bids and term sheets.
• Maintain an up-to-date deal pipeline and organized bid/transaction documentation.
• Provide commercial input for development siting and evaluate origination opportunities.
