Salary Range: $275,000-300,000 + Bonus + Competitive Benefits

We are partnered with leading Renewable Energy Developer/ IPP to search for a Vice President of Origination.

This is a key strategic hire for this growing platform and you will be responsible for leading the commercial power origination efforts for the US market across multiple technologies and hybrid projects. This position plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships in power markets, and across multiple categories of customers including utilities, corporate buyers (C&I) and government procuring entities.

This company is a well established multi-technology platform with a strong development pipeline in a number of key US energy markets including MISO, PJM, SPP and WECC. They are owned by a highly reputable private equity group with a strong track record in the energy infrastructure space.

The Vice President of Origination will lead the sourcing, negotiation and structuring of contracts and other commercial deals. This role will have a unique opportunity to develop and execute novel offtake strategies across multiple technologies and US power markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the origination, negotiation, and execution of PPAs, tolling agreements, and other structured energy products
• Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of commercial and utility-scale offtake opportunities
• Structure complex transactions with corporate buyers, utilities, and energy marketers
• Partner with internal teams to bring projects from early-stage development through financial close
• Define and execute origination strategy across key U.S. power markets
• Identify emerging market opportunities, including new products, geographies, and customer segments
• Provide market intelligence and pricing insights to support development and investment decisions
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate buyers (C&I), utilities, and intermediaries
• Represent the company in commercial negotiations and industry forums
• Collaborate with customers to develop tailored energy solutions aligned with sustainability goals
• Work closely with development, finance, legal, and executive teams to align commercial strategy with project execution
• Support project valuation, underwriting, and investment committee materials

Experience

• 10-15 + years of experience in renewable energy, power markets, or energy trading/origination
• BS in Business / Finance or a related subject. Masters degree preferred.
• Proven track record of closing complex energy transactions (PPAs structured offtake agreements)
• Deep knowledge of U.S. power markets and regulatory frameworks including MISO, PJM, SPP and WECC.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, risk allocation, and contract structuring
• Established network of corporate buyers, utilities, and market participants
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong deal-closing orientation
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market trends into actionable opportunities
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Ability to travel up to 30%
