Deriva Energy is seeking a Director of Origination in Charlotte, NC to lead the end-to-end origination cycle, structuring PPAs and related agreements, and building long-term relationships with utilities and major buyers.

The role requires substantial energy-industry experience, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering profitable, cross-functional deal work across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Eight or more years of experience in the energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead origination strategy and deal execution aligned with business objectives.
• Originate, structure, and negotiate PPAs and related offtake agreements.
• Secure long-term agreements with utilities and corporations for project buildout.
• Develop PPA restructuring and other solutions to improve asset economics.
• Evaluate opportunities and lead cross-functional deal teams through bid and close.
• Prepare materials outlining strategy and risks for bids and term sheets.
• Maintain an up-to-date deal pipeline and bid documentation.
