Job summary
GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Director of Oncology Translational Medicine, Clinical Biomarkers, to lead biomarker and translational medicine strategies supporting late-stage oncology asset development. You will collaborate with the Clinical Biomarker Executive Director, driving biomarker-driven decision-making and patient stratification.

Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent with 7+ years or M.Sc. with 10+ years of drug development experience in pharma, with oncology biomarkers and translational research.
- Strong expertise in cancer biology and clinical development across solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and designing strategic biomarker plans including regulated assays.
- Experience conducting clinical trials and working in clinical study teams.
- Translational biomarker plans and on-boarding innovative technologies.
Responsibilities
- Drive design and execution of clinical biomarker and translational medicine strategies for oncology.
- Validate and implement biomarker strategies for clinical programs to support patient stratification and dose selection.
- Participate in tumor-specific Biomarker Matrix teams and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders.
- Represent Translational Medicine to establish biomarker-driven criteria in study designs.
- Define biomarker priorities and generate evidence packages from real-world and clinical data.
- Oversee sample testing plans and deliver high-quality biomarker data for regulatory strategies.
