Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation seeks a Director of Volunteer Programs to lead enterprise volunteer initiatives across the organization. You will supervise three direct reports and shape volunteer lifecycle practices, workforce planning, and program governance.

You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and continuity to expand capacity beyond 800 volunteers while maintaining high standards of service and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in volunteer management or related field.
• Experience leading a large volunteer program with multi-layer supervision.
• Strong skills in recruitment, onboarding, training, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise leadership for Colonial Williamsburg Volunteer Programs.
• Directly supervise Manager, Volunteer Programs and two Supervisors.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and program governance.
• Lead workforce planning, role design, scheduling, and performance management.
• Develop growth plans and capacity for 800+ volunteers.
