Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a senior technology leader to shape the engineering strategy for Treasury Management, Corporate and Merchant Card, and digital commercial banking platforms in Buffalo. Relocation and a hybrid work arrangement are required.

You will lead ~60 engineers, drive SDLC, DevOps, and modern architectures, and partner with business lines to deliver scalable, client-centric solutions that transform Commercial Banking.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of combined higher education and/or work experience, incl. 4+ years of engineering/architecture and 11+ years of tech leadership.
• Minimum 5+ years of managerial experience leading technical teams.
• Strong understanding of Treasury Management, Payments, Card Technology, or Digital Banking platforms.
• Experience delivering complex multi-system technology initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence across business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience delivering solutions using Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for Treasury Management and Card Platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and client experience objectives.
• Lead multiple engineering teams (~60) to build, integrate, and support critical Commercial Banking platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders across Institutional Client Services, Commercial Banking, and Retail/Small Business Banking.
• Champion modernization initiatives, cloud enablement, and AI delivery practices in line with bank standards.
