Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio seeks a Director of Technology for CyManII to provide strategic leadership and hands-on direction across infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and IT operations. The role collaborates with partners and vendors while aligning with security standards and risk management.

Responsibilities include building technology roadmaps, guiding architecture, and leading incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Seven years of related work experience.
• This position may require the ability to maintain UT San Antonio security per EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes technology strategies, policies, standards, roadmaps, budgets, and priorities that support CyManII objectives; balance leadership with hands-on execution, end-user support, and operations.
• Architects, implements, administers, secures, and troubleshoots networks, servers, endpoints, identity platforms, cloud services, and collaboration systems with hands-on involvement in network engineering, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud engineering.
• Administers Linux and Windows environments; designs and secures enterprise networks (routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls).
• Manages SaaS/PaaS/IaaS with Azure and identity tools; evaluates cloud services for security and governance; stays current on AI developments for secure adoption.
• Manages endpoints lifecycle and onboarding/offboarding; supports device provisioning and access management.
• Ensures availability, performance, resilience, and security via monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and lifecycle planning.
