The Director of Technology at The University of Texas at San Antonio (CyManII) provides strategic, hands-on leadership for infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and IT projects. This role translates complex technical and security requirements into effective solutions and guides staff, vendors, and researchers to support CyManII initiatives.

The position emphasizes secure, reliable, and adaptable technology services, with interaction across DOE, national labs, and academic partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Seven years of related work experience.
• Ability to maintain UT San Antonio security per EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes technology strategies, policies, standards, roadmaps, budgets, and priorities.
• Architects, implements, administers, secures, and troubleshoots networks, servers, endpoints, identity platforms, cloud services.
• Manages SaaS/PaaS/IaaS solutions with emphasis on Microsoft Azure and identity tools; evaluates cloud/services for risk and compliance.
• Leads cybersecurity accountability and manages security technologies and incident response.
• Plans and manages IT projects with coordinating staff, vendors, and partners.
• Collaborates with UT San Antonio’s University Technology Solutions and the Office of Information Security.
