Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group is seeking a Director of Training Development to lead our Training Center in Indianapolis. You will oversee New Employee Orientation, Compliance Training, certifications, and the rollout of new technical training across operations and the distribution center.

The role requires steering the development of a GMP-compliant training environment, creating equipment- and process-specific curricula, and aligning training with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field with 5+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience leading a team in a manufacturing/CPG environment.
• Experience implementing adult learning programs in manufacturing, including training programs for operators and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to determine required knowledge, skills and abilities for each role.
• Design and lead a multi-faceted training and development program focused on technical skills and execution.
• Develop and implement operator, trades and supervisor training and certifications.
• Set strategic vision for the new technical training area and ensure GMP-compliant training.
• Select training methods (online, video, VR, on-the-job, etc.) for different audiences.
• Market and promote training opportunities to employees with clear career path details.
• Conduct organization-wide needs assessments to identify skill gaps.
• Support job descriptions and career pathing for hourly and technical roles.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and training documentation.
• Provide leadership and creative solutions to evolving business needs.
