Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Director of Training Development to lead the company’s Training Center for operations and distribution, overseeing NEO, annual compliance, certifications and professional development.

The role will design and deploy a new technical training program aligned with manufacturing equipment, plant safety, and quality standards, while partnering with operations leadership to scale learning across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field with 5+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience leading a team.
• Proven track record in developing adult learning programs in a manufacturing environment.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone.

Responsibilities

• Lead Heartland’s current Training and Development Center for operations and the distribution center.
• Develop and deploy new technical training materials and SOPs for manufacturing.
• Establish GMP compliant training area and ensure plant safety and quality compliance.
• Develop training methods (online, video, VR, on-the-job, mentoring, professional development).
• Promote training opportunities and communicate career path benefits to employees.
• Conduct organization-wide needs assessments and identify knowledge gaps.
• Assist in job descriptions and career paths for hourly and technical roles.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide leadership to the team.
