Job summary

ON.energy, a leader in data center interconnection, seeks a Director of Technical Operations & Document Control to guide the Technical Council and a seven-member Document Control team. You will own project documentation workflows through ACC and Procore, establish KPI-driven performance metrics, and partner with Engineering leadership to prevent escalations and improve throughput.

You will lead senior technical experts, build scalable documentation systems, and ensure timely, accurate submittals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years in engineering/technical services, incl. 4+ years in leadership.
• Experience guiding senior technical experts and KPI-driven performance.
• Experience owning documentation systems and workflows.
• Strong knowledge of energy storage and medium-voltage infrastructure.
• Familiar with ACC, Procore, and SharePoint.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel 25–30% across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of SMEs serving as escalation path for deep technical issues.
• Establish intake, triage, and resolution workflows with urgency and rigor.
• Drive rapid issue closure by removing blockers and mobilizing expertise.
• Build a technical knowledge base to reduce repeat escalations over time.
• Define and own the KPI framework for the Technical Council and document control.
• Build dashboards for real-time visibility into issue volume, aging, and resolution.
• Analyze trends and drive root-cause corrective actions with Engineering leadership.
• Scale documentation systems and processes to support a growing project portfolio.
