Job summary

Daemen University is seeking a collaborative and innovative Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL). The Director provides leadership for faculty development and initiatives that strengthen teaching and learning across the University.

Working with faculty, academic leadership, Instructional Design, and other campus partners, the Director develops programming related to pedagogy, course design, student engagement, instructional technology, artificial intelligence, and

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; doctoral degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of higher education teaching experience required; five or more years preferred.
• Experience with multiple instructional modalities, including online, hybrid, HyFlex, or blended learning.
• Experience designing and delivering faculty professional development or training.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the University's faculty development strategy in alignment with institutional priorities and emerging needs in higher education.
• Identify faculty development needs in collaboration with faculty, department chairs, academic deans, academic leadership, and campus partners.
• Develop and coordinate an annual calendar of professional development opportunities for full-time and adjunct faculty.
• Lead Sharpening the Edge of Excellence (SEE), Daemen's initiative to advance evidence-informed teaching practices and student learning.
• Plan and implement programs such as the Learning & Teaching Symposium, new faculty and adjunct orientations, workshops, teaching circles, mentoring initiatives, and scholarly presentations.
• Promote evidence-informed, student-centered, accessible, and innovative teaching practices.
