Job summary

Valence in New York is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead recruiting during our next growth phase. You will own hiring strategy, partner with leadership, and build scalable processes for senior and critical roles across GTM and technical teams.

This player-coach role combines hands-on searches with team leadership, org design guidance, and data-driven decision making. You will shape interviewing standards, leverage Ashby for data quality, and integrate AI into recruiting workflows

Qualifications

• 10+ years of in-house recruiting experience in high-growth B2B SaaS or AI companies, across GTM and technical hiring.
• 3+ years leading recruiters or a recruiting function, including hiring and developing the team.
• Experience building or rebuilding a recruiting function at a scaling company.
• Hands-on recruiting with recent senior hires.
• Clear point of view on assessing talent and interview design.
• Influencing executives on headcount and org design.

Responsibilities

• Own Valence's talent acquisition strategy and hiring plan with executive input.
• Lead, coach and grow the recruiting team.
• Run a personal portfolio of senior and hard-to-fill searches end-to-end.
• Design interview frameworks and calibrate hiring decisions.
• Own recruiting operations and data quality in Ashby.
• Report funnel health and hiring velocity to leadership.
