Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years experience in higher education or related field.
• Preferred: 5–7 years of leadership and supervisory experience in higher education.
• Grant-writing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of Mentorship and Student Engagement, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and student success initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and assess departmental goals, policies, and operational practices that enhance student engagement, retention, persistence, and graduation outcomes.
• Oversee the Mentorship and Student Engagement Commons and recommend development of campus spaces supporting student connection and success.
• Lead planning using institutional data, student feedback, and assessment results for decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Supervise and evaluate performance of Associate Director, Assistant Director, coordinators, and staff; set goals and professional development.
• Oversee budgeting, fundraising, external relations, communications, and partnerships to advance departmental priorities.
• Teach and develop leadership-focused coursework and create opportunities that strengthen student engagement and leadership skills.
• Ensure compliance with federal programs (TRIO) and manage program assessment and reporting.
