Job Description:

Job Title: Director of Solution Delivery
Department: Information Technology

Job Purpose:

The Director of Solution Delivery provides strategic leadership for the organization's solution delivery function, ensuring technology-enabled initiatives are effectively planned, governed, executed, and successfully adopted across the institution.

Reporting to the Vice President of Technology Solutions, this position leads a multidisciplinary team of Business Analysts and Project Managers responsible for delivering organizational initiatives while continuously advancing the practices, processes, governance, and tools that enable successful implementation.

The Director is accountable for the health of the organization's project portfolio by providing executive visibility into project status, organizational capacity, competing priorities, resource constraints, and delivery risks. Through transparent reporting, effective governance, and collaborative leadership, this role enables executive leadership to make informed decisions regarding project prioritization, sequencing, and organizational investment.

Success in this role is measured not only by the successful delivery of individual efforts, but by continuously improving the organization's ability to deliver strategic initiatives. The Director champions a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and solution-focused leadership while fostering strong partnerships across Information Technology and business departments throughout the organization.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide leadership for the continuous evolution of Business Analysis and Project Management standards, tools, templates, and best practices, working closely with the IT Program Manager to implement and mature organizational delivery capabilities.
    • Provide strategic oversight of the organization's project portfolio, working through the IT Program Manager and Solution Delivery staff to ensure consistent execution, serving as the senior escalation point for delivery challenges, and partnering with business and IT leaders to remove barriers to successful implementation.
    • Balance day-to-day delivery oversight with the ongoing advancement of organizational solution delivery capabilities.
  • Portfolio Leadership & Governance
    • Develop and continuously improve the organization's project governance framework, including project intake, evaluation, prioritization, executive decision gates, and portfolio management practices.
    • Provide executive leadership with clear visibility into project health, organizational capacity, competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints to support informed decision-making.
    • Promote practical, scalable governance that emphasizes successful business outcomes while maintaining appropriate project discipline.
  • Project & Business Analysis Excellence
    • Establish and evolve standards, tools, templates, and best practices supporting Business Analysis and Project Management across the organization.
    • Ensure consistent application of effective project planning, requirements management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and project controls while encouraging continuous process improvement and delivery effectiveness.
    • Partner with staff to evaluate and adopt practices that improve organizational outcomes without creating unnecessary administrative complexity.
    • Promote practical delivery methodologies, including Agile approaches where appropriate, and leverage tools that improve collaboration, productivity, and visibility across the project portfolio.
  • Resource Planning & Organizational Change
    • Provide executive leadership for enterprise project resource planning and organizational capacity management, helping leadership balance competing priorities and avoid organizational overcommitment.
    • Oversee the IT Change Management process while promoting organizational readiness, stakeholder engagement, communication, and user adoption throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
    • Foster shared ownership for successful implementation by strengthening collaboration between Information Technology and business departments.
  • Executive Reporting & Organizational Leadership
    • Develop executive dashboards, portfolio reporting, and performance metrics that provide meaningful insight into project status, strategic alignment, delivery performance, and organizational effectiveness. Reporting should include clear indicators of each initiative's health, including schedule, budget, scope, and key risks.
    • Build trusted relationships with executive leadership, business departments, vendors, and technical teams, influencing decisions through collaboration, credibility, and effective communication.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the organization's long-term ability to consistently deliver successful strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
